So I actually feel like I got some sleep last night. Still fought a lot of dreams and I am tired, but seem to have a little more energy.

My nights are full of dreams. Most of them are related to the trauma I experienced. What I find interesting is that some dreams are not around the experience, but have the same associated body response. Early on I did not realize that would tie to the helicopter response, even though I will wake up and immediately go back to July 16, 2003 (anniversary date more on that later.

Our brain is very interesting. It ties so many things together that doesn’t or didn’t have anything to what I saw. However, as I continue to go through Cognitive behavioral therapy treatment I have learned a lot on how my brain associates things in order to keep “me safe”. Just very interesting.

What are your experiences that you have noticed that your brain has associated things that have no relationship to the experienced trauma? They are also called Triggers. I will post more on my triggers, and some are extremely weird. Hang in there and have a good day.
